Could everyone share some simple and efficient methods for tracking pipeline materials?
Hello, original poster: First, the design team will provide you with a comprehensive list of materials for review. All you need to do is check it and identify the materials that are special in order to prevent mistakes during construction. If the design team does not provide such a list, you’ll need to go through the schematic diagrams yourself and keep track of the materials involved; this will also serve as an opportunity to create your own inspection records
I use the PMS software; I enter the type of material when there is only a PID diagram, and then I count the quantities once the pipe layout and system diagrams are ready. It’s also very convenient to use this software for compiling material summaries
Now, use PDS to extract the materials and then combine them in EXCEL.
1. Use modeling software to extract samples; both PDS and PDMS modeling software come with corresponding functions for extracting samples. 2. For ISO drawings in CAD format, use self-developed or specialized software to perform batch material extraction.
Simple and efficient – only 3D is available~ It’s a bit expensive
