Capacity statistics of epoxy resin production facilities in the mainland 1. South Asia Epoxy Resin (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. 130,000 tons per year plant (commercial output of 100,000 tons per year); product capacity distribution: 58,000 tons per year of liquids, 31,000 tons per year of solids, and 50,000 tons per year of brominated products ； Phase 2 involves the construction of a new plant with an annual capacity of 180,000 tons (with a marketable output of 150,000 tons per year). The environmental impact assessment was approved by the end of 2007, and commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2009. 2. Dalian Qihua Chemical Co., Ltd. A plant with an annual capacity of 70,000 tons; the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 50,000 tons per year for liquids, 0.5 10,000 tons per year for solids, 15,000 tons per year for brominated products, and 0.5 10,000 tons per year for o-cresol formaldehyde ； The third phase of the 30,000 tons per year liquid processing facility is scheduled to come online at the beginning of 2009, bringing the total production capacity to 100,000 tons per year ； The joint venture’s 75,000 tons per year liquid production facility is scheduled to begin construction, while the accompanying 10,000 tons per year curing agent facility will come online in 2008. 3. Guangzhou Hongchang Electronic Materials Industry Co., Ltd. The plant has a capacity of 70,000 tons per year; the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 35,000–40,000 tons per year for liquids, 9,000 tons per year for solids, and 20,000–25,000 tons per year for brominated products. 4. Wuxi Resin Factory of Blue Star Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd. 40,000 tons per year capacity; product capacity distribution: 30,000 tons per year for liquids, 0.5 10,000 tons per year for solids and specialty products, and 0.5 10,000 tons per year for acrylic acid ； Nantong’s 50,000 tons per year liquid processing plant was successfully put into operation in December 2008 and is now in mass production. 5. Guodu (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. The plant has a capacity of 60,000 tons per year; the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 20,000 tons per year for liquids (of which 20,000 tons per year come from Phase 3, which came online in September 2007), and 20,000 tons per year for solids and special products. The actual total capacity can reach 65,000 tons per year. 6. Sinopec Baling Co., Ltd. The plant has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons. The distribution of this capacity is as follows: 40,000 tons per year for liquids (the capacity was increased to 40,000 tons per year through an expansion in August 2007, making it the largest of its kind in China), 0.5 10,000 tons per year for solids, and 0.5 10,000 tons per year for o-cresol ； A plant with an annual capacity of 160,000 tons is planned to be built. 7. Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Group Co., Ltd. A 30,000-ton/year liquid epoxy resin plant began commercial operation in early 2007; a second 50,000-ton/year epoxy resin plant was built through a joint venture, both producing liquid products, and a 160,000-ton/year epoxy resin plant is planned to be established. 8. Jiangsu Sanmu Group Co., Ltd. 50,000 tons per year capacity; product production allocation: 40,000 tons per year of liquids (of which 20,000 tons per year come from a newly built liquid processing unit that came online in June 2007), and 10,000 tons per year of solids ； The third phase of the technical upgrade project was completed in November 2008; the production capacity for liquid resin reached 100,000 tons per year, while the total production capacity for solid resin was 20,000 tons per year ； It is planned to build another 50,000 tons per year liquid resin plant and a 10,000 tons per year brominated resin plant in 2009 ； It is planned to build 2 new plants with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year in Jiangmen, Guangdong, and Taixing, Jiangsu, in 2009. 9. Wuxi Lanxing Epoxy Co., Ltd. A plant with an annual capacity of 15,000 tons; the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 11,000 tons per year for liquids, 3,000 tons per year for solids, and 1,000 tons per year for brominated products. Wuxi Lanxing Epoxy Co., Ltd. was established in September 2008 as a result of a restructuring from Wuxi Diaisen Epoxy Co., Ltd. (founded in 1997); its current shareholders are Lanxing New Materials and Wuxi Lanxing Petrochemical. 10. Langfang Nuoxin Chemical Co., Ltd. The plant has a capacity of 25,000 tons per year; the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 10,000 tons per year for liquids and 0.5 tons per year for solids. The facility for producing liquids with a capacity of 0,5 tons per year came online in February 2008. A 20,000-ton capacity plant for liquid epoxy resin is under construction currently. 11. The 20,000-ton liquid facility of Shanghai Yuanbang Chemical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is currently under construction to produce 20,000 tons of liquid epoxy resin. 12. Zhangjiagang Hengye Chemical Co., Ltd.: It has one liquid production facility with a capacity of 10,000 tons, and plans to build another facility for producing 20,000 tons of liquid epoxy resin. 13. Jinan Tianmao Chemical Co., Ltd. originally had 3,000 tons of liquid epoxy resin, and is currently building a facility to produce 10,000 tons of liquid epoxy resin. 14. Huangshan Runfa Chemical (Group) Company. For a plant with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons, the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 20,000 tons of solids per year, of which 90% corresponds to 604/E-12. 15. Anhui Hengyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. The capacity of the 25,000 tons/year plant is slightly lower (with an expansion of 15,000 tons/year at the beginning of 2008); the distribution of production capacity is as follows: 25,000 tons/year for solids, of which 90% is 604/E-12.
