Currently, the application of HRS in pyrite and flue gas acid production plants is mainly related to the issue of water balance. It is understood that Mengmoke has made progress in this area; of course, when the conversion rate is 10% or higher, HRS poses no problems at all.

We have communicated with Mengmoke; for each ton of acid produced, approximately 0.3 tons of steam at 1.0 MPa (178 degrees Celsius) is generated. However, the investment required is about 8 times that of traditional processes, so please consider whether to adopt the HRS method
The volume of copper-containing smoke and the concentration of sulfur dioxide fluctuate. HRS requires that the acid concentration in each absorption cycle remain above 99.5%. If this cannot be achieved, then there’s no point in trying. After all, technological advancements have been made in this area after all these years. 1# 975569
5# qingzz1965 With the new types of smelting furnaces that are currently being promoted, such as flash furnaces, Ausmelt furnaces, and Aisa furnaces, oxygen-enriched and high-intensity smelting is employed, which results in very high concentrations of flue gases; therefore, heat recovery at low temperatures is not a problem in facilities like Shandong Yanggu’s dual-flash furnaces.
Mengmok has an HRS unit in Canada for producing acid from smelting flue gas.
