Foreign Language Club Technical Group Bonus Post, May 2009

Let me say something; please, experts, don’t criticize me... Titles aren’t necessarily fixed either. Survival of the fittest through natural selection is an eternal rule of nature – as the saying goes, old things must give way to new ones, and fresh blood is always needed everywhere. I suggest evaluating members on a monthly basis based on the number of posts they post (technical discussion posts). Of course, the requirement for the number of posts doesn’t need to be too high, after all, experts also have limited time, energy, and areas of expertise; 20–30 posts per month should be reasonable... Those who fail to meet the standard for two consecutive months could be advised to step down... Then, new members who are active in the foreign language section can be appointed as experts, and they should be encouraged more. These are just my humble opinions; please forgive any mistakes. I hope everyone will work together to contribute ideas for the development of the foreign language section. _____

In my opinion, the reasons why experts do not participate actively in discussions are as follows: 1. They are busy with work and have limited time online. Experts generally have some work experience and are capable of handling tasks independently in practical work. It’s only natural to be busy at work. 2. Discussions also need to have a proper atmosphere. Without the old friends around, there’s less enthusiasm for discussion, and besides, simple request posts don’t arouse anyone’s interest. 3. Several entertainment games are available in the personal space, and many people spend a lot of time on them. It is recommended to set a minimum limit for the amount of time experts can dedicate per month; rules are necessary to maintain order. Additionally, it is also possible to promote newcomers to join the expert team at the appropriate time.

I’ve been quite busy lately. It’s good to be busy! So I don’t have much time to chat. I’m sorry, my friends; I think I’ll step down from being an expert for now. I’ll come back and chat more when I have free time. Hehe.

To be honest, it’s embarrassing – I’ve been part of Haichuan for several years now, yet my post count still doesn’t exceed 750. It’s not that I don’t care about the development here; it’s probably due to my personality. After all, few posts made aren’t worth much publicity. Resign.

I wasn’t aware there was a bonus post. It’s a bit late and perhaps not the right time, but I’ll say a few words anyway. It is appropriate to set some minimum standards for experts, **but this is not ideal; people tend to be lazy. It’s not right to occupy a position when busy, while it is a positive approach to volunteer when one has time.
