Anti-corrosion of liquid caustic storage tanks

This post was last edited by yuchenchf on 2012-1-19 08:16. Our company mainly produces liquid caustic soda with a concentration of 32%; it is stored at room temperature. After one year of storage, severe corrosion occurs inside the storage tanks. We are now considering two methods for addressing this issue: applying adhesive coatings and lining the tanks with plastic. Considering all aspects, which method would be better?
In the long run, lining with rubber is a better option; Jiangsu Kaiyuan does a good job at this
Our company is a producer of chlor-alkali products, and we have 8 large-scale storage tanks for liquid caustic soda; they have been in use for 8 years without any signs of corrosion. Liquid caustic at room temperature causes virtually no corrosion to carbon steel.
Agree with the view from the 3rd floor. For storing alkaline solutions at room temperature, carbon steel containers are sufficient; if the temperature of the alkaline solution is high, the carbon steel containers should be heat-treated to relieve stress, which can effectively prevent corrosion.
