Dear seniors, I saw the following information on a drawing today: The pressure gauge model is YTC-100, with a range of 0-4.0 MPa and an accuracy class of 1.5. The ends of the flexible tube are fitted with pipe threads of type R1/2” (for connecting reducers) and G1/2” (for connecting three-way valves); the model of these three-way valves is X14W-16P, DN15 (G1/2”, M20*1.5). The design pressure for this container is 1.6 MPa. I only know that the pressure gauge should have a capacity of 1.5 to 4 times the test pressure, with an accuracy class of 1.5; I’m not sure how to choose anything else. Could someone please explain this? Where can I find information on the appropriate models of pressure gauges? Where are the other threads and such?
This post was last edited by JFTANG726 on 2009-6-10 at 12:34. The pressure gauge you mentioned is used during pressure testing, while the one referred to here is used during equipment operation; they cannot be compared. You can just check the samples provided by the pressure gauge manufacturers.
First, the 1.5–4 times relationship refers to the connection between the range of the two pressure gauges and the test pressure during pressure testing; Secondly, the selection of the working pressure gauge is based on the criterion that it should be 1.5 to 3 times the maximum working pressure; this is similar to the general rule that \"the maximum reading should not exceed 2/3 of the range\". As for what model and thread to use, it depends on the medium and the connectors!

Hehe, what are you all talking about? It’s just the model of the pressure gauge – it means that the diameter of the gauge face is 100 mm, and its range is from 0 to 4 MPa. If your test pressure is 2 MPa, then according to the requirement of 1.5 to 3 times that value, the maximum range for the pressure gauge you should choose should be between 3 and 6 MPa. In that case, you can opt for a pressure gauge with a range of 0–3 MPa or 0–6 MPa. As for the thread type, standard pressure gauges use M20X1.5 threads.
