Dear colleagues, we use a methanol production process. Due to design constraints, the steam generated by our boiler in operation is only 12 t/h at a pressure of 25 kilograms per square centimeter, which is not sufficient to meet the production requirements. If we want to increase the steam output by another 15 t/h, is it possible to modify the existing tubular boiler so as to achieve a steam output of 27 t/h without having to build a new boiler? Our process for starting up the boiler involves the boiler water circulation pump transporting boiler water to the tubular furnace coils, from where it then goes to the steam drum to have steam separated out; the water in the steam drum subsequently returns to the boiler water circulation pump for further circulation.
