Based on my many years of experience in electric heating projects, I believe that electric heating has the following advantages: (1) It features a simple design, uniform heat distribution, accurate temperature control, and enables remote operation, allowing for automated management. (2) It features explosion protection, operation in all weather conditions, high reliability, and a long service life. (3) There is no leakage from the electric heating, which is beneficial to environmental protection. (4) Low investment, quick results. The traditional form of heat tracing based on energy equivalence uses steam or hot water for heating, which involves high investment costs (as it requires a range of equipment such as boilers, heating pipes, and pumps). The electric heat tracing equivalent system only requires cables, electric heating tapes, and explosion-proof devices in special cases, resulting in a significant reduction in investment costs. (5) Significant energy-saving effect. During long-distance transportation, steam and hot water suffer significant heat loss, and the thermal energy that can be used directly on the pipes to be heated also has issues with uneven temperature distribution. These issues can be avoided by using electric heat tracing, which improves the heating efficiency and reduces energy loss. (6) Electric heat tracing products are small in size, highly flexible, and easy to install; they do not increase the workload associated with insulating equipment or pipelines, and require very little maintenance on a daily basis. The maintainable temperature range is wide, reaching up to 450°C or higher.
