First, it is necessary to understand the components of a magnetic pump that are prone to damage: the graphite bearings, the spindle, and the isolation sleeve. Damage to these components is usually caused by uneven rotation of the impeller.
1. The base of the magnetic pump must be secured; it should not be placed directly on the ground without any foot bolts for fixation.
2. It is important to ensure that the inlet and outlet flanges of the pump are properly installed. The pump casing is fixed using hex bolts, and if there is stress in the piping, the bolts cannot apply force evenly, resulting in an offset in the position of the impeller within the casing. This leads to uneven rotation of the impeller, putting excessive strain on the graphite bearings and the spindle, which can cause them to fail quickly.
3. The medium being transported should not contain particles that could cause blockages, as this would lead to friction between the impeller and the pump casing.
4. A magnetic pump should operate with very little noise. If abnormal noises or significant vibrations occur, then the components mentioned above need to be replaced
Avoid idling; running without load can extend the lifespan of the magnets, and strict control of the medium is necessary to prevent demagnetization.

The main component that causes leakage in magnetic pumps is the isolation sleeve; if there are particles between the isolation sleeve and the internal magnetic rotor, those particles can wear through the isolation sleeve. 3. Under operation, the pump must never be allowed to run dry; otherwise, the inner and outer magnetic rotors will lose their magnetism due to high temperatures. 4. During maintenance, be sure to check whether the outer magnetic rotor is clean; it must be cleaned. 5. For pumps equipped with a flushing line, it is necessary to check whether the rotating shaft is unobstructed; if it is blocked, flushing will not be possible, which can lead to wear of the isolation sleeve.
It is recommended to install an anti-idling protection device for pumps, which will automatically shut down the pump within 2 seconds when it is idling, thus protecting the pump from damage.
