Who has a process for the double displacement reaction between potassium chloride and sulfuric anhydride to produce potassium sulfate? Potassium sulfate is used as a fertilizer. If there are design drawings, I’m willing to pay for them if that’s possible.
This process was first used at the Beijing Xinping Fertilizer Plant, with a production capacity of 15,000 tons; it was in the 1990s. The Dongfang Fertilizer Company of the former Ministry of Chemical Industry has been paying close attention to it. It can produce potassium sulfate with a 45% content, with ammonium chloride as a by-product. It seems to be economically unfeasible. An article in the fourth issue of the journal \"Phosphatic Fertilizers and Compound Fertilizers\" in 1994 covered the above situation, seemingly in comparison with the Mannheim process for potassium sulfate production. Now, the production of potassium sulfate using the Mannheim process will also fade from history with the commissioning of Xinjiang Luoke.

Many factories used this process back in the day; I have also studied it, but the potassium sulfate produced was not very pure, at around 45%. It can also be used to produce potassium sulfate compound fertilizers. Additionally, the mother liquor needs to be treated; it is recommended to add substances such as ammonium phosphate to it and use spray granulation to produce chlorinated compound fertilizers. Potassium sulfate is used in the production of sulfur-based compound fertilizers.
