In the PRO2 software, how do I select the screen corrugated filler? I’m using version 7.1 which can be found online, but I don’t see any option for a filler
To convert the packing into the number of tray layers
Replacing it with a tray seems not to work, right? Can it reflect the true hydraulic properties of the filler?
First, open the input interface for the column module. Then click the button located at the top of the middle column on the left side, labeled “Tray Hydraulic/packing-”. Set the starting and ending theoretical levels for the packing layer that you want to calculate. Under Internals, select Packing (choose Structured Packing if you are calculating for screen packing). Next, select rating as the calculation type, then click the calculation data button. For packing type, choose BX (or CY; both are types of screen packing – choose whichever suits your needs). Set the packing height and column diameter, and run the calculation. The results of the hydraulic analysis of the packing can be viewed in the report.

However, when I use this packing material for calculations, I keep getting warnings such as: ** WARNING ** (W) – The maximum recommended gas loading is 3 mBar/m. ** WARNING ** (F) – A risk of flooding exists for pressure gradients above 12 mBar/m. ** WARNING ** (R) – The specific liquid load of 20 (m3/m2-hr) for SULZER column packing has been exceeded. How can these warnings be resolved? Is it true that the maximum value that can be achieved with mesh packing is 20?
The tower diameter is too small; PROii already considers it to be overloaded.
