Handling of common events in Honeywell DCS systems: 1. In the event of a power failure, the DCS is powered by a UPS; therefore, when there is a problem with the main power supply, as long as the UPS functions properly, the power supply to the DCS will not be interrupted for a short period of time, allowing operations to continue without disruption. When both the main power supply and the UPS fail, the GUS console will lose power and become inoperable. However, the HPM in the control cabinet is equipped with a backup battery, which ensures that system control can be maintained without interruption for up to 20 minutes ； The main power failure interlock will still activate. 2. “Freezing” refers to GUS failing to respond to the operator’s actions. At this point, if WINDOWS 2000 responds, it can be restarted. If WINDOWS 2000 does not respond, the power to the console should be turned off (the power switch is located at the bottom back side); after turning off the power, wait for a while before turning it back on in order to restart the console. Reboot WINDOWS2000, enter Native Windows, then press the LOAD button on the console; the following will be displayed on the screen: W N 1 2 3 4 X? Type W, press Enter to load the program, and wait for the screen to display NCF? N 1 2 3 4 X? Type N, press Enter, and wait for the console to start up. 3. A \"bad value\" refers to the PV position indication or setting value showing as B (red B), indicating an open circuit on-site or a value that is outside the specified range. If a bad value occurs at the setting point, in AUTO or CAS mode, the system will automatically switch it to MAN mode. In the case of a control system, the output will remain unchanged; at this point, the instrumentation personnel should be notified to handle the situation. 4. Initialization (“INIT”) refers to the display of INIT below the PV of the control point, indicating that the control point is in the process of initialization or that the OP circuit of the regulator has been disconnected; in such cases, the instrument should be notified to take action. 5. When PVSOURCE (PV source) is in AUTO mode, the PV value at this point comes from the PV value of the field transmitter ； In MAN mode, the PV of that point remains unchanged or is entered by the operator. If interlock is applied to that point, the transmitter must be handled on-site; in this case, the PVSOURCE for that point can be set to MAN to maintain the existing PV or a safe value can be manually entered. 6. INACTIVE (ACTIVE): INACTIVE means that this point is not active and in use ； ACTIVE indicates that the point is activated and in use. When the point is in INACTIVE state, the PV displays an incorrect value, the OP output remains unchanged, and the operator cannot perform any operations (notify the instrumentation staff to handle it if necessary).
