The poster should check what the IP rating of the instrument is. The IP rating consists of two digits; the first digit indicates the dust protection level. The second number indicates the water resistance rating; ratings of 3 and above provide protection against rain.
IP6 denotes dust protection, while the second digit indicates the water resistance level; the highest level is IP67, which allows operation in water.
It depends on the level of protection specified for the watch case: 0 – no protection; 1 – protection against drops from a vertical direction; 2 – protection against drops at angles of 75–90 degrees; 3 – protection against splashing water; 4 – protection against spray; 5 – protection against jets of water; 6 – protection against intense jets of water; 7 – protection against short-term immersion; 8 – protection against continuous immersion.
Rain protection refers to the protection rating of instrumentation equipment, indicating the degree to which it can cope with the natural conditions of the working environment. Explosion protection is a safety rating for instrumentation equipment, representing the degree to which it can withstand flammable and explosive atmospheres in the working environment. There is a certain connection between the two, but they cannot be compared.
