Our company produces castables in-house, and during use, with the same batch of material, there is always a certain tonnage that solidifies too quickly. Why does this happen under the same production conditions? There is no issue with the raw materials, nor is it a packaging problem; we use ton bags for packaging which are reused. However, the nature of the products we produce remains the same
One issue is that the ton bags are not properly sealed; alternatively, substances such as retarders and humectants can be considered.
The casting materials all contain additives such as setting aids, which are added separately during use; varying proportions of these additives in the same casting material result in different setting times.
It might be a problem with the coagulant; the material wasn’t mixed evenly and accumulated in certain areas.
Are the weights of the castable in some bags different? If they are the same, it means it hasn’t been mixed evenly, or the amount of additive added each time is not consistent.
It’s likely that the mixture isn’t evenly distributed; during bagging, some of the particles end up concentrated in one or a few bags
