May I ask experienced forum members: can the vent pipes of several oil tanks with the same medium be combined and equipped with a single breather valve? (The oil tanks are not used simultaneously)
If the medium in the tank requires a nitrogen seal, using a breather valve is not appropriate.
Should it be used when the original poster says it doesn’t work? The tanks that aren’t in use should still contain some medium, right? ! It shouldn’t be called unnecessary, right? Breath valves aren’t expensive either – one is needed for each tank. Besides, a single breath valve per tank certainly isn’t sufficient for protection
It’s better for each valve to be independent; sometimes the operating conditions of different tanks vary, and having them separate prevents interference between them.

Breath valves can only be used by oneself; they are not expensive. Using them in conjunction with piping is quite troublesome and unsafe as well
The gas phases of these four storage tanks can be connected, which helps to reduce the amount of material that evaporates during large-scale breathing of the tanks. However, a breathing valve still needs to be installed separately.
I disagree with the original poster’s view; it’s better to use one each, or even two (large containers), considering the possibility of the vent valves failing
As most of the sea friends mentioned above: it’s not feasible to share one breather valve among several tanks! There are serious safety hazards; if the pressure and flow rate in one tank increase, it causes the valve disc to open, allowing other tanks to also be in contact with the atmosphere, which affects the proper functioning of those tanks
When used together, it is necessary to carefully calculate the pipeline pressure drop to prevent overpressure in the storage tank. The design pressure for ordinary atmospheric-pressure tanks is -0.5 to 2 KPa, the set pressure for the vent valve is -0.3 to 1.75 KPa, and the allowable pressure drop for the pipelines is very small. The advantage of using a shared breather valve for storage tanks is that it reduces breathage loss when transferring liquids between the two tanks. Of course, it can also be achieved through vapor equilibrium tubes, with separate breather valves installed for each. 1# LJY0526
It depends on how large the container is used for by the owner. It’s fine if it’s small, but for larger containers, it’s better to buy another one. Domestic products are cheap and prioritize safety
