Brine is supplied for the production processes in the electrolysis workshop by means of salt dissolution on the ground; the salt dissolution tanks are over ten meters tall, and salt is fed into them using conveyor belts. A separate water distribution tank is provided, through which a water pump delivers water into the salt-dissolving tank to dissolve the salt. Belts are expensive, have a short lifespan, and require complex maintenance; their operational costs are high. On the other hand, the motors of several water pumps help to save on electricity costs. Underground salting ponds not only improve the salting efficiency but also **reduce operating costs and save labor.

The energy consumption for salt removal at the surface is higher than that in underground methods; operating costs are greater, more equipment maintenance is required, while the removal of salt sludge is relatively simpler. The outlet of the salt-dissolving tank in small-scale installations can be set at the highest point, allowing for a completely gravity-driven flow process. Currently, all installations are large-scale; whether it’s drum-type or floating-tank types, their heights are beyond what the salt-dissolving tank can reach, which means that gravity-driven flow is no longer feasible for salt dissolution on the ground. What was said upstairs is correct; in terms of both equipment maintenance and operating costs, trough-type salt is better. As for clearing the silt, well, it seems to require about the same amount of work. When removing sludge from the surface salt tank, the manhole at the bottom must be opened. Due to the effect of static pressure, opening this manhole poses safety risks, so special care is required.
