In all current chemical manufacturing enterprises, due to the extended service life of pressure gauges or pressure pipelines, leaks occur to some extent in these areas during normal production operations, which causes inconvenience. Some companies try to fix these leaks by using molds, but the results are not satisfactory. I wonder how other professionals handle this issue (without shutting down the production process)
It is generally sealed with clamps. Now, with a new type of colloidal material, it seems possible to seal leaks without stopping the operation.
It mainly depends on the level of pressure you are facing; if the pressure is low and the amount of leakage is not significant, it may be possible to use clamps and sealant to stop the leak, as long as safety is ensured.
Generally, pressure-sealing is used: fixtures are made according to the pipeline, and low-temperature sealant is applied. Of course, when sealing, it is important to rinse the area where there is a leak with water to avoid injury.

The pressure-sealing technique without stopping the flow can be used to seal leaks; this involves conducting an on-site inspection, creating appropriate clamps based on the location of the leak, selecting a specific sealant according to the properties of the leaking material, and wearing the necessary protective equipment to ensure personal safety as required by the work conditions. Workers participating in the task must obtain the corresponding “Qualification Certificate for Special-Type Workers”. Those who need a qualification certificate can contact txy006@chinaleakseal.com; these exams are conducted uniformly by the Pressure Sealing Technology Center of the China Equipment Management Association, which is also responsible for issuing the certificates.
Generally, clamps are used for sealing, or specialized fixtures along with high-pressure glue guns can be employed to inject sealant for sealing. In cases where the leakage point is small and the pipe wall is thick, bamboo sticks can be used followed by applying strong-sealing glue.
