Material of instrument air pipeline

This post was last edited by cl003487 on 2009-7-30 10:02. Is it mandatory that the material of instrument pipelines in air separation systems be stainless steel? Can’t carbon steel be used? Let’s all talk about what we use!
Copper pipes are generally used, with stainless steel required for the higher points
These are all copper pipes, and generally there are no issues; the valves that come with them are made of stainless steel.
The process gas is drawn from the purified source, and it usually comes equipped with filters and bypasses; so what is the material used for these components?
If it refers to the main instrument air pipeline coming out of the purifier, we use carbon steel for it, including a small buffer in between.
Our instrument air pipes are all galvanized pipes; due to the ammonia production environment, copper pipes are hardly used
Generally, the pipes used in automatic instrumentation systems are galvanized pipes
It is best to use stainless steel; even if it is of lower quality, rust and similar substances can damage the instruments in the control valves, and they can also clog the pipes...
