Silane gas deposition should have a higher efficiency than chlorosilane reduction deposition using hydrogen in a fluidized bed; otherwise, why would REC convert TCS into silane gas before feeding it into the fluidized bed to produce granular silicon? The reason for this is unknown; it might be related to the entire industrial chain and the whole manufacturing process

REC’s fluidized bed technology offers significant advantages in terms of energy savings. Siemens TCS method: 70~120 kwh/kg; Siemens silane method: 70~120 kwh/kg; fluidized bed silane method: 10+kwh/kg. Its biggest drawback is the high level of danger involved.
