I would like to ask the experts here: Our factory is facing a problem at the moment – the pressure of the gas decreases significantly as it travels from the source to the customers. The main issues lie in inspection well No. 2 and inspection well No. 3. The pressure measured at inspection well No. 2 is 22,000 units, whereas it drops to 10,000 units at inspection well No. 3. The elevation difference between these two wells is 3 meters, and the distance between them is approximately 300 meters. I would appreciate any insights from the experts
The main thing to consider is the issue of resistance, to check whether there are any areas in the pipeline that could cause resistance. (excluding the pipeline’s own resistance)
Is the direction of the coal gas flow and the pipeline slope opposite to each other? The pipeline is likely blocked by naphthalene or oil dust, increasing the resistance in the pipeline.
Is it the blockage there in the middle that causes throttling?

Under normal circumstances, such a large pressure drop is impossible; it is likely that the valve or pipeline is blocked.
Adding a condensate drain trap at the location before the pipe slope might help
If there is cryogenic cooling at the gas outlet, it must be throttling caused by the long-term accumulation of condensate in the pipelines. If not, it could be the combined effect of naphthalene crystals and condensed water. Add a condensate tank at one location and increase the number of drainage cycles. Also, it is necessary to first confirm that the valves in the inspection wells are fully open.
