When I was calculating the pre-distillation column and faced the need to choose a type of condenser, I selected a total condenser. However, the system gave an error message stating that “Writing value phase=vapor or Total vapor (Setup streams sheet) is not allowed for the Distillate stream when condenser=(Setup configuration sheet). Override?” I would appreciate some guidance from those who are more experienced.
Based on a literal interpretation, is it true that only the liquid phase comes out of the full condenser, and that the liquid-vapour phase cannot be selected when choosing the phase state?
In my opinion, the reason for the problem is this: when drawing the flow diagram, you connected the outlet stream from the top of the tower incorrectly; it should be connected to the red outlet below (the one above is the gas-phase outlet, while the one below is the liquid-phase outlet). If you are connecting to the gas phase outlet, then a full condenser cannot be selected for the condenser behind it; it should be easy to understand. I’m not sure if my explanation is correct; please advise those who are more knowledgeable~!
