Once the normal calculations are complete, if the model’s color turns dark blue, it means convergence has been achieved; red indicates that convergence has not occurred. However, for larger calculation files, it is advisable to run the process several times or reduce the convergence error. Still, in some cases, even when the color is blue, it might still represent false convergence (this situation occurs very rarely).

Blue convergence is relatively easy to achieve, but it mainly depends on whether the conditions you set are difficult to meet. If you set a relatively simple task, it will be easier for it to converge. For example, if the cost per tray is 10, and the separation requirements are very high, convergence generally won’t occur; it’s necessary to adjust the reflux ratio and the number of trays in order to achieve good convergence results.
As mentioned above, once the color turns blue after running, it indicates convergence. But the problem is that sometimes it’s not the result you really want, or it might even be the wrong result; this could be related to the parameters you enter and the choices made in thermodynamics. After the simulation, it is recommended to check whether the results meet the separation requirements; if they do not, convergence is meaningless. Furthermore, even if the separation requirements are met, it is advisable to check with existing devices to see how much the actual data differ from the simulation results, and to consult experienced colleagues to determine whether these calculation results correspond to reality.
