Why has the scale of the device become smaller after the modification?

While looking at some materials recently, I noticed that some devices have become smaller after being modified – what’s going on? It is generally understood that after upgrading the scale of the facility, the processing capacity should increase, right?:dizzy:?
The modification of the device includes capacity expansion modifications and process modifications. If it is the former, the enhanced capabilities are usually increased. But if it is a process modification, that’s not necessarily the case. If the sulfur recovery unit is converted from an ammonia-free to an ammonia-burning process, its capacity decreases after the modification due to the reduced concentration of acidic gases.
