Our company’s urea production unit uses vertical high-pressure condensers; I would like to know what the characteristics of tank-type condensers and tank-type reactors are What are the advantages and disadvantages? Here, some information about pool-type condensers is provided: compared to vertical types, pool-type condensers allow more ammonia and carbon dioxide to react within them; they function as a type of primary reactor, which helps reduce the size of the synthesis tower; Furthermore, since more ammonia and carbon dioxide are involved in this reaction, more low-pressure steam can be produced as a byproduct ; For scales with the same production capacity, the reduced volume of the urea synthesis tower, combined with the horizontal structure of the pool-type condenser, allows the frame height to be lowered. Compared to vertical types, pool-type condensers represent technological progress; it seems they don’t have any drawbacks, right? However, for domestic users, Stamicarbon currently holds a monopoly on this technology; the patent fees are high if one wants to use it. Moreover, it seems that there are no manufacturers in China capable of producing pool-type condensers. That’s perhaps its drawback!
For devices with these two configurations, the synthesis tower and the condenser are combined into one unit; the main advantage of this approach is that it introduces a medium-pressure section, allowing condensation and dehydration to take place within the same device in the high-pressure area.
