What is 16MnR material?

16MnR: 16MnR is a common low-alloy steel that is frequently used in boilers and pressure vessels; it can be produced through hot rolling or normalizing. It is a low-alloy steel with a low manganese content. Its performance is similar to that of 20G (412–540); its tensile strength is slightly higher, at (450–655), and its elongation rate is 19–21%, which is lower than the 24% value for 20G. 16MnR steel is a special plate for pressure vessels with a yield strength of 340 MPa; it possesses excellent comprehensive mechanical properties and processability. The phosphorus and sulfur contents are slightly lower than those of ordinary 16Mn steel. In addition to higher requirements for tensile strength and elongation compared to ordinary 16Mn steel, impact toughness must also be ensured. It is the steel plate specifically designed for pressure windows that is most widely used and in the largest quantities in our country at present. R refers to the steel used for containers
So, is it stainless steel or carbon steel?
Wasn’t it clearly stated upstairs? It’s a low-alloy steel; you can call it carbon steel
