During the copper extraction process, if the feed solution contains high levels of copper and has a low pH, or if it is necessary to reduce the copper content in the raffinate to a relatively low level, it is generally considered, based on existing experience, that adding alkali during the extraction process can help adjust the pH and thereby increase the extraction efficiency. For a 3-stage extraction process, where do people think is the best time to add alkali: before the first extraction, before the second extraction, or before the third extraction? The prerequisite is to minimize the amount of alkali required while achieving the same copper content in the raffinate. Everyone is welcome to discuss.

We add it before the aqueous phase passes from the third stage to the second stage, by directly dropping it into the guide tube and then it enters the mixing chamber. -- Which level to which level exactly? Is the level that you ask PLS to enter called Level 1 or Level 3? --
Add alkali to half of the intermediate stage; it can be added before the 3rd or 2nd extraction. However, adding alkali directly at the inlet can lead to uneven distribution of the alkali, resulting in copper precipitation. A small stirring device for adding alkali can be used for this purpose.
