Trichlorosilane is a colorless liquid that is highly volatile. Boiling point (°C): 31.8, relative density (water=1): 1.37. I wonder how people store them, and what kind of materials and containers are used? Also, if I need to measure and take it, how should I do that?
It seems to be stored in stainless steel containers... In the lab, we used stainless steel containers for storage as well
In production, carbon steel pressure-resistant storage tanks can be used. It should be stored under pressurized liquefied conditions. It can be used for measurement with an integrated metering tank (the metering tank is combined with the storage tank). Water exposure and contact with humid air are strictly prohibited during loading and unloading processes.
I use it in production; currently the design involves carbon steel pressure-resistant storage tanks. What should be the appropriate pressure rating for these tanks? I need to put the material into small buckets for measurement. Is nitrogen purging required throughout the material transfer process? But it still seems not very easy to measure. Does the continuous flow system you mentioned require that the location of the storage tank be no lower than that of the metering tank?

Carbon steel can be used; stainless steel is required if purity is necessary; It is stored using cooling methods at a pressure of around 1 Bar. For metering, a mass flow meter can be installed at the outlet; if high pressure is required, magnetic pumps or shielded pumps can be used for transportation, while N2 can be used when the pressure is not high.
