In fixed-roof storage tanks with plastic linings, static electricity may be generated inside the liquid due to factors such as friction. Although the tank wall can be electrically grounded. But plastic does not conduct electricity, so it should be impossible to drain static electricity through the tank wall to ground. In this way, the static electricity accumulated in the liquid is still very likely to cause accidents. I wonder if the above understanding is correct? I would also like to ask everyone whether it is possible to conduct away the static electricity accumulated in the liquid using a conductor (for example, by inserting one end of a red copper tube or copper stranded wire into the liquid and connecting the other end to the equipment’s casing, so that the static electricity can be discharged promptly through grounding of the casing) I wonder if the above idea is feasible?
