Seeking advice regarding the model number of a ball valve. The model number of the ball valve is QA41F-10R3; what does the letter A stand for? Let’s discuss this.

There are quite a few such codes these days; for example, ZA40H-10C – this refers to a gate valve. But what does the letter A stand for? Does it indicate a new standard?
All Google searches show “National Standard New-Type Gate Valve”, but the meaning of A cannot be found.
