For the gaskets of refrigeration shell-and-tube heat exchangers, where the pressure and temperature on the refrigerant side are relatively high, PTFE gaskets or metal-wound gaskets can be used； For the cooling water side, rubber-asbestos gaskets, PTFE gaskets, etc. can be used.
Are metal wound gaskets used in shell-and-tube heat exchangers in the chemical industry? Is it used in the refrigeration industry?
Personally, I don’t think it should be categorized by industry; there are mainly three factors to consider when choosing gaskets: pressure, temperature, and the properties of the medium
