How long does it take for your company to get the methanol distillation unit up and running? How long is the shortest one?
When driving after a long period of parking, it takes up to two shifts
For long-term parking (more than 6 months), it’s certain that the product won’t be ready that quickly; after all, there is rust on the piping equipment. Our company always starts by boiling the tower before starting production, and this process takes at least 2 days. If it has only been stopped for 1-3 months, then it’s quick – it will definitely meet the requirements within 16 hours.
After long-term parking, with proper preparation, 16 hours should be sufficient to produce qualified products!
During major overhauls, the catalysts in the methanol synthesis unit are replaced; after restarting, the unit operates satisfactorily for over a day. If it is shut down for a few days before being restarted, our team can ensure that everything functions properly within at least 4 hours each time
For long-term parking, the system is designed to prevent air from entering; before starting up again, a thermal wash is carried out, the feed temperature is carefully controlled, and the steam used for heating the material is added in small amounts over several times. This makes it quicker to restart the system and facilitates the production of qualified products.

If only distillation is used, the three-tower process can produce the product in as fast as 4 hours, or up to 6 hours if it’s slower! It mainly depends on whether there is sufficient steam volume and pressure!
For the distillation system, we usually only need four hours. The people upstairs said there’s rust on the pipes; that’s because you didn’t take proper care of them during periods when the system was not in use.
They’re more or less the same; basically, one class is enough for us.
