I would like to ask the experts: are there any books that provide detailed basic data on various types of biomass? Could you recommend a book? Thank you first!Biomass for Energy: Biomass is a highly heterogeneous and chemically complex renewable resource. Understanding this natural variability and the range of chemical compositions is essential for scientists and engineers who are researching and developing energy technologies using biomass resources. The term “biomass” refers to any plant-derived organic matter. Biomass that can be used for energy on a sustainable basis includes herbaceous and woody energy crops, agricultural food and feed crops, agricultural crop wastes and residues, wood wastes and residues, aquatic plants, as well as other waste materials, including some municipal wastes. The Department of Energy funds research, development, and demonstration projects aimed at using renewable biomass resources as feedstocks to produce a variety of energy-related products, such as liquid, solid, and gaseous fuels, electricity, heat, chemicals, and other materials.
Database Contents: The database contains results from analytical tests conducted on biomass samples by scientists working under the Biomass Program, using standard test methods—almost all of which are ASTM methods. The information included covers compositional analysis, structural chemical analysis, elemental analysis, proximate analysis, heating values, and lignin properties. However, not all analytical methods were applied to all samples. All chemical analysis data are presented on a moisture-free basis. References to the data, as well as references to the test methods used, are provided where available. The values for the individual samples included in this database are “as-reported” values; this means that further testing using the same methods on similar samples may yield slightly different results. Such differences stem from both the natural variability in biomass and the precision and reproducibility of analytical techniques. The samples included in the database are not necessarily representative of that particular type of biomass.

Given the large number of biomass samples in the database, the first step allows you to narrow down your search to a specific category or classification of biomass samples. The next step enables you to select from all samples that fit the selected categories. If you only need the numerical data, select the biomass sample type and the property type, and choose “No” for all other options. To view specific notes related to a sample, select “Display Biomass Sample Notes.” To get a brief description of the source of the biomass sample, try “Display Biomass Source Information.” If you want to know where the information comes from, choose “Display Data References.”"
