We have two vertical pipeline centrifugal pumps for transporting softened cooling water. If you have any questions as follows, please consult professionals. Because the noise of the water pump was too loud, the bearings of the water pump were replaced. After the replacement, the noise was significantly reduced and the sound was similar to that of other normal water pumps. However, after the bearing was replaced, the water pump was extremely hot and the temperature could reach 82 degrees. There is no sweeping phenomenon, the impeller does not produce friction, and the current does not exceed the rated current. . What causes this phenomenon?
The current does not exceed, indicating that there is no process of converting electricity into mechanical energy or mechanical energy into thermal energy. At this time, the water temperature reached 82°, which only one analysis: Are the cooling water in direct contact with the medium to be cooled? Check whether there are changes in the water pressure and the pressure of the cooled medium.
Check these three aspects: 1. It may be that too much grease was added when installing the bearing. 2. The installation position of the bearing may be unreasonable, causing the bearing gland to not reach the outer ring of the bearing, causing friction and heat between the outer ring and the bearing box. 3. The front and rear bearings are of different models or manufacturers, causing the gland to contact other parts of the bearing instead of the outer ring.
Thank you very much for your reply. Maybe I didn't explain it clearly above, but 82 degrees is the temperature of the pump motor.
First of all thank you very much! When installing the bearing, add more grease. The bearings at both ends are provided by the same company. The main reason is to ask outsiders to install it. I will check the installation position again. :handshake
The motor temperature of 82 degrees is also normal. You can try it to see if the current is too large. If so, it means the load is large, that is, the flow rate is large. Pay attention to this issue.
The clearance between the bearing glands may have been adjusted too small, or the bearing accuracy may have been reduced during installation.
The temperature rise of the motor is 30-40°C which is a normal temperature rise....
If you add too much grease, it will run normally after a period of time.
Since it is a vertical pump, what type of bearing is used, how is the axial thrust solved, and is the heat generation related to this?
