According to the code, it is important to classify storage containers; for the ordinary horizontal and vertical tanks in a plant, how is it determined whether they are storage containers? Are all process equipment, such as stabilization, separation, buffering and other intermediate devices, not considered such? Do not discuss things that are quite obvious, such as liquefied gas, ammonia, spherical tanks, etc.
A storage container, as the name implies, is generally used for long-term storage, for months or even longer. Therefore, the tanks and vessels in the general process flow, whether called xx storage tanks or xx storage vessels, are not considered such; they can only be regarded as separation containers. Only those that are stored for a long time, such as final product storage tanks and raw material storage tanks, can be considered storage containers.
Only media used for long-term storage can be considered storage containers; items such as buffer tanks in industrial processes are process containers and do not fall under the category of storage containers
