Please, the original poster, determine first based on the context which pipeline of the pump is being referred to. Since the minimum flow rate of the pump needs to be taken into account, I assume it definitely does not refer to the pump’s inlet/outlet pipes (for which the maximum flow rate should be considered to determine the appropriate pipe diameter), but rather to the pump’s minimum return pipe. Some pumps (such as high-pressure centrifugal pumps) require a minimum return line to protect the pump from cavitation.
