I recently took on a project that requires PE pipes to be installed using pipe racks. However, such pipes deteriorate rapidly when installed exposed. Are there any measures that can allow these pipes to be installed exposed, or are there other types of materials that could be used as alternatives?

Black PE pipes can be installed exposed, as carbon black is used to provide UV protection. Of course, their lifespan when installed exposed is shorter than that of pipes buried underground, but they should be fine for use over 10 years. The biggest problem with exposed installation is bending deformation. PE pipes are flexible and prone to bending, which affects their appearance. Moreover, when the spacing between supports is small, additional supports are needed, which is rather troublesome. If PE pipes must be used, it is recommended to opt for \"steel-reinforced polyethylene composite pipes\", as these pipes have greater rigidity and are very suitable for use as process pipes.
