I came across the following information online: Chemical Engineering Design Committee of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Survey and Design Association, Sinopec Survey and Design Association Document No. (2009) 006 – Notice on the Official Publication of the Design Manual “Engineering Design and Application of Towers”. Approved by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Survey and Design Association, the design manual “Engineering Design and Application of Towers”, which was prepared under the organization and editorial oversight of the Chemical Engineering Design Committee of this association (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) and the National Chemical Engineering Design Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”), has now been completed and is in the process of being published. It is planned to be released by a formal publishing house in October of this year. Column technology and separation engineering are among the core aspects of chemical engineering, and they hold a crucial role in fields such as energy, resources, environmental protection, biology, and new materials. They are of great significance for the sustainable development of the chemical industry. Faced with the rapid development of technology today, the demand from scientists and engineers for new technologies, as well as their strong desire to improve their own technical skills, in order to better serve those working in fields such as engineering design, construction, research, and manufacturing, and to promote the use of new technologies and products developed through independent innovation in China, thereby improving the quality of engineering design and construction in the country, bringing tower and mass transfer technologies up to world-class standards, and gaining a competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets, the “Professional Committee” and the “Central Station” organized chemical engineering experts specializing in mass transfer separation and tower technologies to compile this book. These experts have long been engaged in this field and enjoy a high reputation and influence within China. The book has a total length of around 1 million words, and its main text is divided into 15 chapters, namely: Some New Developments in Modern Separation Engineering ; Development and Current Status of Tower Technology ; Selection, design, and application of packed towers ; Selection, design and application of plate towers ; Jet-type three-dimensional continuous mass transfer trays and their design and application ; Super floating valve trays and their design applications ; Engineering Design and Case Analysis of Strainer Plate Columns and Their Composite Plates ; Float valve trays and their design applications ; Design calculation of rotary disk extraction tower ; Energy saving and optimization in the distillation process ; Technical Progress of Large-Scale Tower Equipment and Optimized Design and Application of Hardware Series ; Engineering analysis and optimal design of towers ; Marangoni effect and its industrial applications in separation systems ; Simulation calculation and analysis of towers ; Introduction to standards for tower packing and internal components of towers, along with a compilation of reference materials on tower internal component technology. The contributors are: Fei Feiyang, Du Peiheng, Yuan Xiaojing, Zhao Ruwen, Zhang Zhibing, Lu Enxi, Yu Xiaomei, Chu Yazi, Zhao Pei, Gao Youfei, Wang Fuhua. The book covers the significant research, development, and application achievements of experts in tower technology and separation engineering, as well as researchers and technical personnel in this field in China over the past 20 years or so. The publication of this book will once again provide valuable technical resources for tower design technology and separation engineering in our country. It will assist engineering designers in adopting new technologies and products, thereby improving the quality and standards of design and construction.
