Our company plans to install a high-pressure hydrogenation system with a reaction pressure of 16.5 MPa and a processing capacity of 16 m3/h. The reaction feedstock is of oil-based nature, and it is necessary to use a pump to increase the pressure from 0.4 MPa to 18 MPa. The centrifugal pump specified in the design has a head capacity of 2100 meters. Does anyone in your organization use such pumps, or is there any manufacturer that can produce them? It should be a high-pressure hydrogen feed pump, with a double-shell multi-stage centrifugal pump design! Based on your data, the density of the medium should be 854 kg/m3 ; So, a 400kW motor is selected. You can contact me to discuss the parameters of the specific measurement points in more detail. With a flow rate of 16 m3/h and a head of 2100 m, this is a typical pump for low flow rates but high head. It is recommended to choose Sundyne pumps, namely the Sundyne pumps mentioned on the third floor; they are gear-driven high-speed centrifugal pumps that are highly reliable. Reciprocating pumps are unreliable. Multi-stage centrifugal pumps: with such a low flow rate, it’s unclear how many impellers are needed, and their reliability is not high either. I checked, and the maximum head of the Suntain LMV type pump is roughly 2000 meters. Note that this is just an approximate figure, as I obtained it from Suntain’s sample brochure. However, 2100m is indeed too high. Why not increase the inlet pressure of the pump to slightly reduce the head? This way, there are more options available. Sident does indeed have pumps with a head of over 2000m, but they are another model – something like the HMP – and they are mainly used for fertilizers; their price is definitely much higher.

After checking, Ebara has not produced high-speed pumps with a head of over 2000 meters; it would be possible to get in touch with Aerospace Institute No. 11 to see if they can handle it
