The function of the sulfur seal tank is to prevent leaks of process gas, and at the same time it allows solid impurities to settle within it, thereby preventing these impurities from entering the liquid sulfur tank!
It is a sulfur-sealed observation tank. It is usually used to check whether sulfur is being released from the sulfur seal and the amount of sulfur released, in order to determine whether everything is operating normally.
I agree with what was said above. There is one more question I would like to ask: our outlet pressure for low-temperature methanol washing is 0.20 MPa, while the designed inlet pressure for sulfur recovery is 0.079 MPa. Moreover, combustion takes place using oxygen as an oxidizing agent. Due to the low sulfur content in the coal, the concentration of acidic gases is only 25%. Thus, the pressure difference before the gas enters the furnace determines the flow rate of the gas entering it, which shouldn’t it cause errors in the flow rate calculations by the automatic control system?
Typically, acidic gas should first enter the acidic gas separation tank before going into the furnace. If it follows this process, the problem you’re worried about won’t occur. If there is no separation tank, it is recommended to add one.
A sulfur seal tank uses the static pressure of liquid sulfur to contain harmful acidic gases, preventing them from coming into contact with the atmosphere. Meanwhile, in case of system instability or fluctuations in acidic gas levels during production that lead to the breakdown of the sulfur seal, it provides protection for the pipelines and fans.
