Can the type G2 of the welded joint between the nozzle and the shell be used only in Class I pressure vessels? If it is a Class II or III pressure vessel, which type of welded joint between the nozzle and the shell is usually used?

In reality, G2 is not only used in first-class containers, but also often appears in second-class containers. The third type of container mainly adopts the welding type of double-sided groove with mainly inner groove (for people to easily enter the cylinder). Otherwise, the welding type of outer groove with argon arc welding is used.
Normally, this kind of welding type of no-reinforcement nozzles is mainly small nozzles, so the small nozzles of our pressure vessels generally use forged nozzles. It is generally feasible to use this type of welding node for Category 1 and 2 vessels (except for special medium requirements). I have not done it yet for Category 3 vessels, but according to my understanding, if the no-reinforcement nozzle welding type is used for Category 3 vessels, the welding type of forged nozzles and shells generally uses butt welds, that is, similar welded joints!
