I would like to ask whether the relay protection setting values should be determined by the design institute or by the construction party
The questions are not comprehensive enough; the value of the setting should be adjusted based on the current level of the mechanical equipment being controlled!
I would like to ask whether the relay protection setting values should be determined by the design institute or by the construction party? The relay protection setting values generally refer to the parameters for the comprehensive automation protection of high-voltage switchgear. These settings are necessary for each high-voltage cabinet; therefore, it is essential to calculate the appropriate capacity for each switchgear, and the setting values are determined based on that capacity ; At the same time, the protection required for those projects also needs to be selected based on the nature of the load they carry, and then set through calculation (or using empirical values). The relay protection setting values calculated next must be submitted to the power authorities for review, to determine whether they are reasonable and whether they will cause conflicts with the higher-level power supply system. If they are reasonable and approved by the power authorities, then the relevant settings can be made (however, whether the setting values are accurate needs to be determined through on-site tests by the power authorities). The party carrying out the construction work does not have the authority to calculate these relay protection setting values; it should be the design institute that performs such calculations. If the design institute cannot carry out the calculations, then the electrical engineers from one’s own company will have to do the calculations!
It should be set according to the device’s parameters and actual requirements
This should be issued by a design institute; custom calculations require relevant qualifications.
Issued by the design institute. When the power utility comes for calibration, they will request this calculation sheet. All calculations can be done, but only design institutes have the authority to issue certifications.
The design institute should determine the fixed values, and corresponding adjustments can be made during actual use depending on the circumstances
The construction unit is not qualified to issue protection setting values; the design institute can calculate these values based on the equipment parameters provided by your unit. If the high-voltage cabinet is connected directly to the power system, it is best for the power utility to provide the setting values, though a fee will be charged for this service. If it is part of the system under the company’s substation, then it can be calculated by the company’s own electrical engineers.
You can also consult relevant electrical engineering companies to carry out the calculations; they will provide calculation reports and setting lists that are more accurate than those from design institutes
