Dear friends from Fengxi, I heard that your company has two additional burners below the main burner. These two burners do not use coal slurry but only oxygen, accounting for about 20% of the total fuel usage. How is their performance in operation? For example, ash, load, effective gas components, and so on – what is the principle behind this? Could you give a brief introduction?

It is Xi’an’s two-stage furnace technology. The purpose of adding a small burner is for secondary combustion in order to reduce coal consumption. It might still be immature; as a result, oxygen and coal consumption are relatively high when it is in use. As a new technology, it still needs improvement.
I think it should be feasible in theory; I’m not sure about the actual situation. However, this might be beneficial for protecting the burner by reducing its wear, but it probably isn’t very good for atomization After all, there is less oxygen.
The atomization effect doesn’t worsen just by adding two nozzles; doesn’t the Thorp four-nozzle system also provide excellent atomization?
I heard that the newly installed two furnace sections are to have their water wall structures modified. I’m not sure how coal-water slurry ignition will be carried out, as it requires a high temperature.

There are nine Fengxi branches; what I’m referring to is the gasification technology used at the head office in Linyi, which has an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of methanol, with urea produced as a by-product. There is another plant with a capacity of 200,000 tons; it’s not clear which technology is being used there. It’s unknown how well the newly installed water walls are performing, and we hope that someone from Fengxi can provide us with some information on this.
