What kind of distributor should be used for towers with a capacity of less than 700? (It is used in vacuum distillation towers.) Please share as much information as you know.
Currently, tray-type distributors are widely used, but for towers with small diameters, if the material above the tower bottom is relatively clean, it is simpler and more reliable to use tube-type distributors.
I agree with the above statement: for large tower diameters, slot tray or narrow-slot distributors should be used, while for smaller tower diameters, tube array or elbow-type distributors will suffice.
During vacuum distillation, the liquid flow rate is generally low; it is recommended to use a tube-type liquid distributor or a connected-tank type liquid distributor.
The tower I’m working with is 10 meters high, and a distributor is installed at the top (the diameter of the tower is 700). The problem I’ve noticed is that the sight glass on the distributor shows a large amount of material remaining inside; however, the amount of material flowing back outward isn’t very large. If a distributor with exhaust pipes is installed in the middle, then how is the material that remains at the top collected?
Without installing a redistributor, there will be a lot of trouble! There’s no need to say more here. The problem upstairs has been solved by adding collectors to the pipe rows, such as riser-type liquid collection trays or inclined-plate liquid collectors. Either switch directly to a tray-type gas-liquid redistributor.
A bent-tube arrangement is more suitable
