For the hydrogenation of 50,000 tons of benzene, how much hydrogen is required per hour? If hydrogen is produced using pressure swing adsorption with coke oven gas, what is the approximate area required?
Hydrogen consumption is 1,000–1,300 cubic meters. The space required depends on whether a change is needed; if no change is allowed, an additional compressor building will be necessary, requiring approximately 1,000 square meters. But friends must pay attention: the gas before entering the PSA system must be thoroughly dehydrogenated and denitrified; otherwise, the adsorbent will become ineffective very quickly.
