The gas-liquid separator located after the air cooler for crude vinyl chloride (VCM) – are you referring to the gas-liquid separator that is situated below the crude vinyl chloride condenser? Nowadays, it is combined with the feed tank of the low-boiling-point tower; no separate gas-liquid separator is used anymore. For an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons of PVC resin, a horizontal storage tank with a volume of 5–8 cubic meters can be used as the feed tank for the low-boiling-point tower, equipped with a partition inside to separate the feed side from the discharge side, which helps to separate water from the monomer. The discharge pipe is a bottom-insertion type pipe; after oil and water separation, the liquid flows over the partition and enters the low-boiling tower on the discharge port side. The gas phase is connected to the outlet pipe of the total condenser as a balance tube, which serves both to separate gas from liquid and to remove water.
I agree with the opinion from the second floor, but I suggest that the buffer tank for 120,000 tons of crude vinyl chloride should have a capacity of over 10 cubic meters.
As mentioned on the second floor, our factory also doesn’t use the air cooler you mentioned; complete condensation takes place before the low tower.
