For a pure, dry gas without water, carbon steel should be fine, right?
Fluorine gas cannot be stored in any unlined material, including stone mills or plastic containers; it can be stored using nickel-lead alloys lined with sodium fluoride or potassium salt materials. It should not be stored for long periods of time, and under normal circumstances it is stored in high-carbon steel cylinders with nitrogen diluted to about 4%.
