I have a question for everyone: In sewage treatment plants, the guide tanks and outlet weirs used in coagulation and clarification tanks are made from Q235A steel. What is the best method for corrosion protection? Is it feasible to use an epoxy-zinc-rich primer followed by an anti-corrosion topcoat? Thank you!
Determine the specific anti-corrosion methods for the diversion tank and outlet weir based on the quality of the water entering the system. I work in the grain and oil industry; at the end of last year, I built a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 1,450 cubic meters per day. The diversion tank is protected against corrosion using 3-mm-thick fiberglass reinforced plastic, while the water outlet weir and diversion plates are coated with epoxy zinc-rich primer and anti-corrosion topcoat. It has been put into use and is performing well. Discussion is welcome!
The simplest and most practical method is to apply fiberglass-reinforced plastic for corrosion protection on the inner wall of the steel pipe. However, the joints and connections must be sealed tightly; it is best to cover them with an additional layer of material. Since the expansion coefficients of steel and fiberglass-reinforced plastic are different, delamination can occur over time. Therefore, the joints and connections need to be properly treated to ensure that the solution does not come into direct contact with the steel pipe.
Previously, we also used steel plates lined with fiberglass to prevent corrosion, but later the manufacturer recommended using fiberglass for everything, including weir plates and pipes. It offers guaranteed strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and is very convenient and fast to manufacture and install, resulting in outstanding performance.
I think, simply put, epoxy coal tar pitch coating will do. . . Considering erosion, some filler such as scales can be added appropriately. .
