I’ve just graduated and am working in ball valve design (just starting out); I don’t know what I should learn I also hope that those who came before us can offer suggestions so that those of us who come after can avoid making the same mistakes!

Similarly, right after graduating, I worked at an oil company for 8 months. I feel that in terms of valve design, the focus should be on larger diameter valves; smaller diameter valves are quite simple and their designs have already been standardized – there are only a few variations available. Larger diameter valves require the use of reduction mechanisms, which is something worth exploring, as it involves more complexity and offers opportunities for further research
First, learn about the different types of *ball valves. By understanding the uses of each type, it becomes natural to identify the most advantageous brands within each category; after that, by knowing the specific features of these brands, one can proceed to design their own ball valves. It is particularly important to learn more about high-end ball valves abroad and to consult relevant materials. As for design, it takes time to develop skills in this area; there is no shortcut – one must ask questions and keep learning.
4# leonnie (1) agrees with what was said above; ball valves are relatively simple types of valve products, but it’s not easy to manufacture them well either, as there is a lot of knowledge involved in it. I have been working in ball valve design for many years, but I still learn new things every day. (2) As for ball valve products (and presumably the same is true for other types of valves as well), I believe it is necessary to master several key areas of knowledge in order to do well in this field: engineering materials, mechanics of materials, fluid dynamics, sealing theory, mechanical design principles, and mechanical fundamentals, among others. At first glance, a valve seems like a simple device, but in fact it involves many related theories, representing a combination of principles from various disciplines. Another key point is that I think gaining experience through actual work is also very important.
Hehe, I’m not in mechanical design. I’ll give you a concept to see if you can design it – this is something we’ve already placed an order for: a ball valve that can withstand temperatures of 650 degrees; a globe valve won’t do.

Pressure and medium? For low-pressure steam or similar, use an H316 forged ball valve
