Connection issues between distillation towers and heat exchangers

The outlet pipe of the distillation tower is connected to the heat exchanger; if the centers of the tower and the heat exchanger are on the same horizontal line, that is, if the connecting pipe has only one 90-degree elbow, is that acceptable? The gas temperature in the tower reaches up to 100 degrees, and it operates on a batch basis. The temperature is not constant. Is it necessary to keep a certain distance between the tower and the heat exchanger? Should an additional elbow be added, and should thermal expansion and contraction be taken into account? The pipe is made of 304 material, with a diameter of dn200.

It is recommended to add one more elbow, so as to better compensate for the flexibility of the piping system; meanwhile, it is suggested to conduct a thermal stress analysis on the piping of the heat exchanger in order to finally determine the appropriate piping configuration
It only reaches up to 100 degrees, so there is no need to consider thermal compensation. Moreover, it is made of 304 material.
