LMP is a metal passivator for catalytic cracking, suitable for use in catalytic cracking units in refineries; it effectively prevents metals such as vanadium, nickel, sodium, and iron from undermining the activity and selectivity of the catalyst. It can reduce the toxic effect of polluted metals on catalytic cracking catalysts, and it is currently the most convenient and effective method for addressing the issue of metal contamination in catalysts.

Note: Additives that suppress the various effects of metals on oil. In the oil refining industry, metal passivators have two applications. (1) Substances used to suppress the catalytic effect of active metal ions (copper, iron, nickel, manganese, etc.) on the oxidation of oils. It is often used in combination with antioxidants in light fuels such as gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel, to improve the stability of the fuel and extend its shelf life. Commonly used ones include N,N’-dissalicylmalondiamine. (2) In heavy oil catalytic cracking, compounds of antimony are commonly used as substances to suppress the impact of heavy metals contained in the oil (such as nickel, vanadium, copper, etc.) on catalyst activity.
